The Biblical story of Moses is coming to Pigeon Forge in a very unique way with a new musical production featuring a live cast interacting with specially designed holograms.
Biblical Times Dinner Theater in Pigeon Forge, TN plans to open “Moses Mountain of God” on February 28, 2014.
“Moses Mountain of God is a unique Biblical production that combines live performers with amazing holograph technology,” according to Jeff Ellison, marketing representative for Biblical Times Theater.
In addition to the show, each guest in attendance will also be treated to full course meal — a seven-item “feast of Biblical proportions.” The meal includes hand-carved smoked turkey, pulled pork, grilled chicken, herb-garnished red potatoes, home-style baked beans, garden salad, cheddar cheese biscuit, caramel cream cake, and unlimited tea and lemonade. Guests also have the option to upgrade their ticket to premium seating in newly-installed deluxe dinner theater rocking chairs, complete with an attached swing-out dinner tray, located in the first several rows.
The entertainment for the evening begins as dinner is served and actually combines “two shows in one.”
Ellison explains, “Combining two shows in one, the first half has our award-winning cast singing a variety of gospel, along with sharing their personal testimonies, while you are being served a 7-item feast of Biblical proportions.”
After the meal and gospel variety show, there is a brief intermission. Then the audience returns to their seats as the lights dim for the main event.
“The second half is the Biblical portion of the production, with original music and holograph technology that is presented as you have never seen or heard before,” Ellison adds. Moses Mountain of God is a story of faith and miracles told through the eyes of Moses' assistant commander, Joshua.
“The message of this story is that the same lessons of faith that Israel learned in preparing for the crossing over into the Promised Land are the same lessons for us in our daily walk. Lessons that will help prepare us for crossing over to Glory with the soon return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” Ellison said.
Who or what will be seen as holograms? The theater representatives do not want to give too much away, but are teasing “12 glorious holographic scenes with a live cast,” including biblical scenes of the Red Sea crossing, the burning bush, the conquest of Canaan, and even the rapture. The show also features a score of all-original music.
Following the premier of “The Christmas Story” in 2012 and “Kings of Psalms” in 2013, theater representatives say they feel more prepared than ever before to present the new production for 2014.
Allan Miller serves as director at the theater. "We are so excited about the new production Moses Mountain of God and what the Lord has in store for our theater, and everyone that we will have the privilege of entertaining this year. It truly is a blessing to have the opportunity to produce a Christian production, and we are thankful for what we have learned the first 2 years of our production, and feel that we have gained valuable experience, and with the Lords leading, we are confident that this will be the best production that we have ever done,” he said.
The show is scheduled to open on February 28 and run through October 31. Shows are planned Monday – Saturday at 6 p.m. An educational pre-show begins at 5:30. Matinees and select performances on Sundays are also planned. Biblical Times Dinner Theater is located at Light #2, 2391 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN 37862. Ticket Prices for adults are $44.95 plus tax.
